Miss Marilyn Farmer

My Name is Miss Marilyn Claire Farmer. I born in Jefferson, County, Stapleton, Georgia. I am the oldest of seven children. My parents are the late William Randolph and Carolyn Farmer. I am a mother of one son name William Tyler. He is 21 years old.

I attended the Jefferson County School System, in Wrens, Georgia, formerly Wrens High School, where I was nominated as Miss Wrens High of 1976.  I received a Bachelor Degree in Special Education Albany State University in Albany, Georgia. I am now currently enrolled at The Capella University Education Master’s Program.

During my professional journey I have had the opportunity to teach and serve in the educational field in many capacities. I was a Lead Teacher and Center Director for Harambee Child Development Council in Albany, Georgia. Later, I became employed with River Quest Psychoeducational Program as a Lead Teacher for Self-Contained and The Alternative School in Midville, Georgia. I was nominated as Teacher of The Year while employed with the agency.  I was the Lead Facilitator for The Super 1 Program held at Jefferson County School and a Lead Teacher for Schools of Child Development Pre-K Program. Currently, I am now an employee of the Jefferson County Board of Education at The Wrens Elementary School as a professional educator in Special Education, severly and profound class.  I serve on the PBIS committee.

I am a member of the Stone Springfield A.M.E. Church, where I serve faithfully on the Usher Board and Women Missionary Society. During my spare time I enjoy decorating, gardening and cooking. I have a passion for working with children. They are the humor, laughter and fun I get to see every day. I need all of these for healing and strengthening my soul to become a proficient educator. I believe every child CAN LEARN.
