• Johnson, Cynthia As the Media Specialist of Carver Elementary I'm glad and excited about the new School year. My goal is to create a love of reading for students and a knowledge of technology in the 21st century.

Hello. My name is Cynthia Johnson and this is my 28th year in Jefferson County School District and my 13th year at CES.  I love working with the students and staff.

I attended Albany State College for two years and later received my Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education Georgia College State University.  Since then, I have earned a master’s degree from Central Michigan University Curriculum Instruction, and my ED.S from Georgia Southern University in Curriculum Instruction and an add-on certification for the Library/Media Specialist program from Georgia Southern University.  In addition to my degrees, I have a reading endorsement and a teacher support specialist endorsement. My educational journey began at Louisville Academy as a paraprofessional. I taught Middle Grades at Louisville Middle for 13 years before becoming the Media Specialist at CES.

I’ve taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, sixth grade, seventh grade and eighth grade.  I believe all children can learn with their own learning plan. Not every child learn at the same pace nor the same way.

I have been married to my husband, Howard and we have three children’ Mario, D’Wayne, and Wymberly. The proud grandmother of seven grandchildren. (Christian, Chasiti, J’Ren, Mia, Chloe, Skylar and Chyna).  In my spare time I love to read and encourage others through my Mary Kay skin personal experience.
