Investing in Educational Excellence… IE2

By June 2015, state law requires that all Georgia school districts choose
either an IE2 or Charter District framework for leading and operating schools.

At its March 2015 meeting, the Jefferson County Board of Education
unanimously approved pursuing the IE2 option as the best option for the
students of Jefferson County. Staff immediately began drafting a contract
that will provide the district and its six schools substantial freedom from
state education laws and regulations in exchange for increased
accountability.
