Hello. My name is Julie West and this is my ninth year as the Media Specialist at WES.  I love working with the students and staff.  

I began teaching 30 years ago after receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Augusta College.  Since then, I have earned a master’s degree from Troy University in Foundations of Education and an add-on certificate for the Library/Media Specialist program from Georgia Southern University.  In addition to my degrees, I have a reading endorsement and a teacher support specialist endorsement. 

I've taught kindergarten, first grade, EIP, and K-5 art.  I believe all children can and will learn if given the right mixture of love, support, and patience. 

I have been married to my wonderful husband, Brad, for 34 years and we have three children:  Katie, Molly and Jacob.  In my spare time I love to read, paint and do anything crafty.
